Bib Shorts and Why They’re Awesome

There are many times in a cyclist’s journey when they feel it is time to upgrade their equipment.  There are the obvious ones such as your first carbon soled shoe, a new wheel set or group upgrade.  However, there is one key piece of equipment that can make a world of difference with your time in the saddle.  I speak of the bib short.

If you have never donned a pair of bib shorts, you are missing out on faster speeds, longer distances and added comfort.  How do I get all these benefits from a pair of shorts you ask?  Well, bib shorts do not bind around the waist.  You do not have to fidget, adjust or unroll the top of the shorts.  Because they go over your shoulders, there is zero pressure or discomfort around the midsection.  They conform to your body without any pressure around the shoulders or legs, which feels like you have nothing on.  So, you now can ride in comfort for longer distances. You do not have to constantly adjust your shorts which keeps your hands on the bars in an aero position and faster and you don’t have to think about how terribly uncomfortable your shorts are so you can concentrate on where that next sprint sign is and plan your attack.

I can honestly say that you will never wear a pair of cycling shorts ever again after you wear your first pair of bib shorts. Do yourself a favor, go purchase some equipment that is worth every dollar.

And by the way, ladies, you can wear them, too!  Our very own Angie Balentine also loves them for many of the above reasons.

Bib shorts are on sale for 25% off from now until the end of July, in-store and online!
